LIMITATIONS: ACC checkout privileges
are granted to TexShare card holders 18 and older. Borrowers
limited to check out of print materials in the Circulating
Collection and periodicals at campus locations where
these circulate. Maximum of five items out at any one
time; Further checkout is barred if two or more items
are overdue. Privileges do not include Interlibrary
Loan services; access to the Computer Center; or checkout
of Reserve materials including laptop computers, or
books/items in special collections such as the Support
Center Lending Library Textbook Collection.
ELIGIBILITY: TexShare borrowers may
apply for borrowing privileges by presenting a valid
TexShare Card and presenting a photo ID. The borrower
must sign a TexShare Borrower Agreement which outlines
borrower responsibilities.
CARD AVAILABILITY: Borrowing privileges
expire upon the expiration date of the TexShare Card
or in 365 days if the card expiration date is more than
one year.
HOURS: Hours for all ACC Library
locations are posted at http://library.austincc.edu/loc/
RENEWAL OF MATERIALS: Books may be
renewed twice if no other patron has requested the item,
in person, by phone, or through online self-service
at http://alicat.austincc.edu/patroninfo.
RETURNS: Borrowers are responsible
for returning materials directly to any ACC Library
by the date/time due. Materials should be returned in
person, or by first class (insured) mail.

OVERDUES: The Library is not responsible
for notifying borrowers that materials are overdue,
but as a matter of courtesy, an overdue notice usually
is sent when an item becomes overdue. Notices are sent
electronically to the email address the borrower provides
the library or in print to the mailing address if there
is no email listed. It is incumbent upon the borrower
to maintain a current email and mailing address with
the library.
NON-CIRCULATING ITEMS: Non-circulating
items include, but are not limited to, reference books,
audiovisual material, and computer software.
LOANS: Books circulate for two-weeks
to general TexShare patrons and students, three weeks
to faculty. At some locations, back issues of magazines
and journals circulate for three days.
FINES: Overdue fines and other fees
are charged to all borrowers: faculty, staff, and students.
Rates: circulating items - $.25 per day per item; maximum
fine per item is $25.00. Checkout is barred if two or
more items are currently overdue or if any material
is overdue more than four weeks and/or fines are not
paid.
LOST ITEMS: Items will be presumed
lost and charges assessed if not returned within four
weeks from the due date. Borrowers are responsible for
overdue charges after four weeks regardless of whether
or not the item is eventually returned. Lost or damaged
charges include replacement or repair cost of each item,
plus any fines that have accrued, plus a $10.00 processing
fee.
BILLING: Payment is due upon billing.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for the following
reasons: (1) failure to pay overdue fines, lost or damaged
charges; (2) two or more items are currently overdue;
(3) materials are overdue more than four weeks; (4)
library notices have been returned as non-deliverable.
